Job Description

  • This position is for an outside field sales contractor. Representative will be working for a company that specializes in two lines of business: Roofing and exterior construction, and roof inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Representative will prospect new business on behalf of the company. This includes indirect sales (building referral business from insurance agents and realtors) as well as direct sales during projects (field marketing, target marketing, responding to calls into the office).
  • Representative will conduct exterior inspections to determine damage to customer’s home. If damage is present, Representative will close contract to serve as roofer and/or general contractor for repair of noted damage.
  • Representative will scope damage at the property in a project file, in preparation for meeting with the customer’s insurance company adjuster.
  • Representative will meet with insurance company adjuster and get agreement upon the scope of damage to the house.
  • Upon receipt of insurance paperwork, Representative will detail work orders for production department to order materials and prepare sub-contractors to complete project.
  • Representative will be visible during completion of individual sub-contracted projects in compliance with OSHA requirements. This includes counting materials delivered onsite (to ensure order is correct), stopping by job site to talk with customer and manage crews, returning unused materials to supply house, and managing any discrepancies between work ordered and work completed on projects.
  • Upon completion of project trades, Representative will generate invoice to customer and ensure that all monies are released to customer by insurance carrier as well as by their mortgage company.
  • Representative will be responsible to collecting invoiced totals from customer.
  • Representative will be responsible for auditing their project files to ensure that sub-contracted receipts match insurance paperwork and invoiced amounts.
  • Representative will prepare invoice to managers in order to receive compensation for each project collected.
  • Representative will conduct roof inspections during buyer/seller transactions with real estate companies.
  • Representative will document roof condition and issue certification, or recommend repairs or replacement in order to certify the roof condition.
  • Representative will prepare documentation and invoicing and collect from customer at the end of the certification process.

Qualifications

  • This is an outside field sales position: Representative must be able and willing to load, unload, carry and climb ladders to inspect roofs.
  • College Degree preferred; military veterans encouraged to apply.
  • Representative must be able and willing to carry ladders, up to 50lbs.
  • Representative must be able to pass a background screening and drug test.
  • Representative must be articulate and able interact well with customers.
  • Representative must be able to demonstrate sales experience.
  • Representative must be willing and able to travel to customer location in order to manage the sales, construction, and collection cycles.
  • Representative agrees to study for and pass the state independent adjuster’s exam within 1 month from start of position.
  • Background in construction management or project management preferred.
  • Representative agrees to study for and pass any additional licensing requirements necessary to properly service their territory.
  • Position requires a vehicle capable of carrying a ladder and a clean driving record.

Compensation

  • This position is a commissions-based sales position. Representative will be paid in accordance with company compensation plan, volume of sales, and professional experience. There is no cap to income potential in this position.
  • New hires will be properly trained at the company expense with the certification necessary to complete their responsibilities.
